honeymoon with a 15 month old - any ideas?

We're getting married at the end of July and want to go away afterwards with dd who's a walking and independant year old at the moment. None of us are great in very hot weather and the priority really is a holiday that she'll enjoy (with the theory that we'll then be able to enjoy it more)

We had thought about Canada as being child friendly but I don't know if that'd mean a lot of travelling around.

Any good ideas out there?

I don't have any but I will be following this with interest as we have a 15 month old ds, and really need a holiday!

We went to Italy last year when DD was 16 months which was lovely. We stayed at the top of Lake Garda and went in August. It was hot, but not unbearable as it is north Italy. Italy is very child friendly

Of course I recommend Canada, my home and native land... You can get very cheap self-catering places near beaches, the best are in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. There are direct flights with Air Canada Heathrow-Halifax, but you'd want to book soon. There are probably charters via Toronto too, cheaper. Let me know what you have in mind and I can answer more questions...

I got married in May 6 years ago and went on honeymoon with my then 15 months old! (Glad I'm not the only one). We only went to France but travelled across the Channel in a first class cabin, stayed in a great hotel with swimming pool in Deauville and spent the week on the sandy beach. It were great!

Thanks folks - I shall look up all the recommendations.

It all seemed a lot easier when we were starting to plan this with just a bump!

I can't wait to go away - I definitely need the holiday
