After some advice please. My parents are being VERY generous and have offered to take me, DH and 2 DC's aged 4 and 6 with them on holiday somewhere a bit different and amazing!

They are thinking of a budget of about 10k for 10 days probably AI. It must have good kids facilities. Failing that somewhere amazing but I guess the kids will be too little for safari or somewhere more exotic.

We have time off in August so ideally then but could move it to earlier the following year maybe easter time.

I appreciate that this is REALLY open but any suggestions greatfully received.

Bora Bora. Maeva Hoa bungalows specifically! They're being built by a childhood friend of mine who is just a brilliant, talented guy with an amazing vision of this project he is working on. I plan to make a trip one day for sure. But yeah, Bora Bora...I've been wanting to go for the past 20 years.

So would do states. Great with
Kids, foods easy. Itinerary 1, fly into Vegas, out of sf might be a stretch but lots to choose from. Grand Canyon, bryce, Zion canyons you might want to see then to Yosemite San Francisco, wineries - lots to do. Your kids are a great age for Florida - lots more than theme parks - sanibel island, cape canaveral, Miami, Everglades. St Augustine. Good uk connections to Orlando, sf and Vegas at least from the southeast and north west.

With a budget like that I wouldn't want to just go and sit on a fancy beach. You want somewhere with loads of stuff to do. I'd suggests Sri Lanka or Thailand, although August is rainy season in SL. You can do safari, beach, jungle, temples, ruins, etc etc

One day we hope to go back to Riviera Maya in Mexico. Beautiful beaches, lovely weather, luxury hotels (if that's what you want), Mayan ruins of Tulum, snorkelling with turtles on Akumal Beach, diving in cenotes. There are theme parks, there are lots of hotels with great kids' facilities. Plus there are loads of flights from all over the country so give you good options of dates.

Tokyo would be amazing and they have a Disneyland too.

Oh Brazil too. The North East (Salvador) is very kid friendly and loads of side trips you could do. Mangue Seco to ride the sand dunes, Praia de forte to see the turtles. Camping in Arambepe and so much more.
