Want to surprise DH with a weekend away in January. We are in Hampshire so looking for somewhere darrrn sarrff.. Would LOVE a cabin/cottage with hot tub, but open to other suggestions! Not on a really tight budget but don't really want to spend more then £150 for the whole weekend.

Any recommendations??

Avon Gorge Hotel, Bristol

No idea if it's affordable, possibly not, but the location is simply stunning and it is in a great location for exploring Bristol.

If I ever return to Bristol, I'm staying there rather than the slightly less salubrious Premier Inn, complete with view of Primark we stayed in last time

I was coming on here to suggest Bath! It's blooming lovely. Lots of culture, great shops, lovely old pubs, restaurants etc. Definitley something for everyone! We've just booked to go back with friends for a few days over new year!
