its a bit more than i want to spend atm but kids want to go this weekend so wondering if it is worth it?

lakeside & haverthwaite is v pricey, thinking maybe bolton abbey/embsay. if anyone knows any others in general area would appreciate recommendations!

does anyone know what sort of present the kids get? dont want to spend £50+ for a couple of selection boxes!

We used to do Embsay when our kids were small and the presents were good value (c 15 years ago though so I don't know what they're like now)

There is a steam train at Preston now and there is also the East Lancs railway between Bury and Ramsbottom - I'll find you a couple of links

Agree with JanH - we used to go to Embsay about five years ago.
The Wensleydale railway (Leeming Bar to Leyburn) does Christmas Santa runs too.

Keighley and Worth Valley Railway do one, it's been going since I can remember (I think I still have the doll I got from Santa when I many moons ago!)
