Croatia - 2 centre - Dubrovnik and an island?

Going round in circles with the choice/areas!

Any recommendations for the nicest, easiest to get to from the mainland? Also if anyone can suggest good hotels/self catering that would be great.

The most obvious is Korcula but it depends on what you want. Or drive up to Split and take the ferry to Brac or Hvar they are the bigger ones. There is a resort on Mljet saw it years ago which was quite nice or there are some isolated places ( think mega chill out relax) on Sipan ( with a funny squggle on the i)

We stayed on Korcula and it was lovely but that would have been in about 1985 - it might be different now..... :o

Thank you - yes Korcula looked the easiest. But probably go for 2 weeks so have the luxury of time to,travel a bit further.

My son went to Pag this year and really enjoyed it.
