Any hint and tip for Vegas 4 nights, in October, also getting married

If you're playing the machines in the hotel lobby, you'll have free drinks - just a tip needed. The shopping mall at CP is great, book some shows - cirque perhaps! Enjoy - I adore Vegas.

Our travel agent recommended staying in one of the higher end hotel/casinos when we went with DC (15 and 11) last year. I'd mentioned New York or the Pyramid one and she said not. She recommended the Bellagio or Venetian as they were 'cleaner'. I didn't get what she meant until we got there! (Less obvious hookers!! DH kept being handed cards with girls names on despite walking and holding hands with DD!) The other thing is, prices are massively cheaper mid week than at the weekend. We stayed at the Bellagio with a lovely view of the fountains and Eiffel Tower opposite. We also liked the food in the Venetian with another bizarre view! The restaurant at the top of the Eiffel Tower is supposed to be lovely. Dsis went with her DH. A treat for newlyweds.

We didn't gamble because we had DC in tow but when we went years ago you could get free drinks and snacks if you were gambling so we spent a lot of time feeding the cheap slot machines! There were Sinatra-esque crooners singing and Elvises everywhere. It's a wonderful bonkers place. You'll love it!

We went about 5 years ago, Penn and Teller were the best things about the whole holiday. Wandering around the hotels was great, don't miss the fire show and dancing fountains. There are men on every corner handing out cards advertising prostitutes, our son suggested playing top trumps! It is very hot. Not my favourite place, but interesting.

I saw the Penn and Teller show and it was fab. Tickets were booked online from here in the UK and in advance.

In October their blackout days are Thursday and Friday. They perform at the Rio hotel and casino.

We went to the restaurant in the Eiffel Tower. It was ok. Very very pompously over formal and cheapest bottle of wine was $75. We had a good laugh at all the overblown pomposity of it. But I wouldn't recommend

You can learn how to play craps. That looked good fun. Lots of the casinos have lessons (free)

We stayed at the mandarin oriental. Gorgeous gorgeous hotel and, thankfully, no casino so it was a real issue of calm when we were all casino-ed out at the end of the day.

when did this change? They were free when I went in march 2013.

Prime in the Bellagio is nice for a special meal. Stripburger in the fashion mall does great burgers. La reve in the Wynn is a great show.

We stayed in the Luxor in 2012. We went over for my sister's wedding. The rooms were lovely - spacious (handy as we had 8y dd with us), tidy, up to date, clean, etc.

Buy water from the men selling them on the bridges for ice buckets - loads cheaper than in the hotels. You're probably not supposed to but it will save you money.

We didn't really see anything particularly bad - there were men handing out cards offering certain services - but we just waved them away and walked on and they left us be. DD didn't notice at all.

We had fun.

Def the Venetian for romance! We stayed here for our first wedding anniversary and it was just beautiful! Perfect location too. On our anniversary we did the champagne helicopter tour of the canyon and steak dinner at the Wynn. Both were fab!!! Also the gun range was surprisingly good - I wasn't keen on that kind of thing but it was actually really educational.

We just got married in Vegas. We stayed in the Bellagio, when we checked in we said we were there to get married and they upgraded our room.

Go online and register for your wedding license, then when you get to the clerks office you do not have to fill out the forms and you get in the fast line. We went a couple of days before the wedding so the wedding day was relaxed.

We also booked our wedding chapel from the UK too. Got a limo pick us up at the hotel and brought us back. Had a wonderful time, everyone was so nice and made us feel special.

If you can, go to the Circ Du Solei Beatles show - it was amazing. You can book that online too.

Woolfgang Puck resturant at the MG Grand is lovely for a meal. Just across the strip from the Luxor. The piano bar at the Bellagio is special, we went there after the wedding for cocktails.

It was so hot when we were there, over 42 degrees in August, will be cooler when you are there hopefully. Take comfy shoes if you want to go for a walk on the strip, everything looks a lot nearer than it is.

I need another visit.

They were just finishing new York and thevenetian and bellagio weren't built then. It was mum and dad's favourite place and they went twice a year. Luckily I got to visit with them as he died suddenly just after we got back.

Congratulations on your wedding. It sounded great fun.. My daughter was going to get married there but then settled on Orlando instead.
