Is there an equivalent of 'gites' in Spain

Some friends like the idea of renting a few gites together that share a pool next summer. I know this is a common set-up in rural France (converted farms etc) but how about Spain? Specifically Costa Brava?

Our issue is that we are three or four families who want our own living space with shared garden and pool, so a big villa wouldn't be ideal (kids would love it my idea of hell not having own space esp own kitchen)

I'm sure I've seen villas together, with shared pool. I think it may have been on Owners Direct.

I'm not sure if you can search for a gite-type group but there are plenty of nice holiday developments where you could find several units.

Homeaway gives you masses of filters - I looked for cottages & chalets with pool & children welcome. Where there are multiple properties they all come up with the same thumbnail

I just clicked on Catalonia but you can narrow it down to Costa Blanca/Girona though that also reduces options.
