Planning details for our trip next month. Any recommendations for eating out? We will be staying in Vegas, San Fran and La (Beverly Hills and Santa Monica) have a car for LA so can go a bit further afield.
Planning a mix of fine dining and more casual options. We like most types of cuisine!

I highly recommend breakfast at the Paris hotel in LV. The Eggs Florentine were yummy!

The Chinese restaurant at the Bellagio (over looking the fountains) was lovely.

Best buffet was at the Wynn (next door to the Venetian).

Zampa that's good to know - definitely keen to eat al fresco at the Bellagio one night but I've been torn on wether to go to Yellowtail or Prime.

A buffet also a must in Vegas I guess!

Is Jasmine the Chinese restaurant? Google is a brilliant resource but there is so many options I don't know where to start!

What's the name of the restaurant at the Bellagio with all the Picasso's?! Anyway, I haven't been but friends say it's amazing.

The Wynn group of hotels are really good for vegetarian meals as I believe that Mr. Wynn is a veggie!

Sorties in SF for breakfast

We also went to a lovely Japanese restaurant called Akiko in San Francisco, near the Dragon Gate in China Town. Just had to go on Google Street View to remember the name!

Fisherman's Wharf is very touristy but we did have some lovely clam chowder there. Will try and remember where!

It was Jasmine - yes!

Zampa · 08/09/2015 11:12

Boudin Bakery for clam chowder!

If you have time and want to do a trip to the Napa Valley, I highly, highly recommend Platypus Tours. It was an amazing day trip.

MsVanRein · 08/09/2015 11:20

I think it's just called Picasso!
Thanks loads of great suggestions.
I would love to go to Napa Valley for the day don't know if DH would be as keen but will def keep it in mind!

Thanks Sunshine will check it out.

Would second evening buffet at the Wynn - great!

In SF @ Fisherman's Wharf, for an informal early evening dinner (it closes at 7.30pm) or lunch, we liked The Codmother. Also for casual Chinese, House of Nanking. Not a huge menu but pretty tasty

LA is huge so it's often difficult to recommend somewhere given the size but I like this place which is pretty casual:

www.lgostationcafe.com/

it does amazing fish tacos.

SquirrelledAway · 08/09/2015 18:17

SALT at the Marina Del Rey Hotel in LA was good - not far from Santa Monica.

MsVanRein · 08/09/2015 19:55

Pushka - we are staying Beverly Hills and then Santa Monica while in LA but will have a car and would like to go a bit further afield so any and all suggestions welcome. That place looks cute I like the look of their menu.

Squirrelled thanks I will check it out.

So excited!!!

I like Pasadena so here's another couple of recommendations:

www.arroyochophouse.com/

www.theparkwaygrill.com/

This is also a nice place in Studio City:

fireflystudiocity.com/

Are you aware of the Chowhound website? There's a section organized geographically, and is perfect for questions like these.

And I'll warn you, the more specific, the better. In other words, don't just ask for suggestions in S.F. - ask for moderately priced Northern Italian places where you can bring toddlers.

MsVanRein · 09/09/2015 10:33

Pushka thank you for all the suggestions all look great - Firefly definitely a good call as wouldn't be too much of a drive from hotel.

I'm keen to have a rough plan in place so we can chose places to eat close to things we are doing that day, and also want to make a couple of reservations as we always waste hours trying to decide where to eat!

MsAmerica brilliant will have a look thanks for the tip! Sounds like a really useful website!

Milos at the Cosmo hotel in Vegas was amazing

I live in LA and my fav places are Cafe Gratitude in Venice and Crossroads in WeHo for vegan, il Piccolino in Bev Hills for Italian, sugarfish in Brentwood or Santa Monica for sushi, tar and roses in Santa Monica, nabeeya in the fashion district in DTLA is an almighty hole in the wall sushi place, donut friend in highland park does the best donuts in the city

MsVanRein · 20/09/2015 18:24

Oh Kiki brilliant thank you! Good to get recommendations from someone local!
Will def check out Il Piccolino as it seems to be less than 10 minutes from hotel!

I'm so excited!
