formula at Stanstead

Has anyone travelled through Stanstead recently with a FF baby?

I know I can take through a "reasonable" number of 200ml bottles, but I'd ideally like to buy some more post security. I am failing to navigate the boots website and think I'm too late to pre book collection anyway.

So does anyone know if I can buy Aptamil after security on the day?

I'd call them directly and reserve some.

In my experience you can travel with sufficient formula to last for the duration of the flight with perhaps one spare. Much more than that and they get a bit antsy.

You have to taste all pre-made formula in front of them - so that's ALL the bottles you have made up ready to drink. Any pre-made formula has to be opened and tested so the little cartons won't reseal again.

I brought spare pots of pre-measured powder and just bought water airside.

V tedious.

Tedious indeed.

So did you make it up with cold water then?

I'm travelling hand luggage only so don't have the option of checking more into case for arrival. For a 6.30pm fight I realistically need 18 hours worth of formula (say from check in at 4pm til 10am next morning to be able to buy more)

Thank goodness we have the security apparatus, maintaining safety in the face of liquids. How irritating.

Oh please. Has there ever been any bombs contained within factory sealed, comercially available bottles / cartons? Have there ever been any suicide bombers taking their infants on board the flight? Total overkill and persecution of the wrong people

I travelled through stansted in July, with water in 2 bottles and powder in a dispenser, a couple of UHT cartons and puree pouches- more than we needed but wanted to have enough to cover delays and to settle DS if he disliked flying. I can't remember what happened with the pouches, they took the bottles and UHT cartons and put the in a machine for 20 seconds to check the contents then gave them back. They didn't raise an eyebrow on the amount I was carrying through.

Thanks sleeping dragon
