I've booked tickets got Saturday for London to Exeter.

Can we try and get an earlier train than the one I booked?

I'm collecting the tickets then, from Paddington. How long should I allow for actually collecting the tickets?

TIA

I'm depends what kind of ticket you have booked as to whether you an get a different time train.

If you've got Advance tickets you have to travel on the specific train. If they're Off-Peak you should be ok.

I usually give myself half an hour for collecting tickets / getting coffee / going to the loo.

They are Super off peak single tickets and on the outward journey I wasn't able to book a seat although on the return I was Confused

I THINK you're ok. Assuming you booked online, does your email confirmation say anything about specific trains / restrictions?

Not that I can find Empress Smile
I think we will rock up early and keep our fingers crossed. Thank you

Super off peak is usually travelling after a certain time in the morning & not between certain hours in the afternoon.

Although Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak times will vary by both the train operator and route, the times generally fit within the timelines listed below:

Super Off-Peak

(Mon-Fri) Not valid for arrival into London before 1pm and between 3pm and 8:30pm

(Mon-Fri) Not valid for leaving London before 11am and between 1:30pm and 8:15pm

(Weekend) Not valid for arrival into London before 12pm and between 5:45pm and 8pm

(Weekend) Not valid for leaving London before 10:30am and between 4:30pm and 6:30pm

balletgirlmum · 21/08/2015 09:18

10.06 is the earliest train you can get.
