Can anyone please help.
I booked a holiday for after my wedding for my family. Couldn't go because my daughter got chicken pox.

But I bought travel insurance the day before she got chicken pox will they still give me my money back.

Also how long does it usually take I'm hoping to get money back and book another holiday in 6 week school holidays.

Any advice would be great

Depends on what date your cover started. We had a similar situation once & since cover started on the date of travel (not on date of purchase) we couldn't get anything back. Apparently if we'd fallen ill on
The day of travel & cancelled that day we would have been covered.Grin

Well covered from date of purchase but I'm scared in case they think it looks suspicious and refuse to pay.

I am waiting on doctors note but they are taking ages.

I really hope we can get on holiday soon.

Insurance company are unhelpful likewise are the doctors.

Feel like they don't understand my panic and urgency.

they don't. No need for panic, anyway.

ring up the surgery and politely chase. Then get the note to the insurers ASAP.

nothing suspicious about it. This is why you buy travel insurance, cancellation cover starts on day of purchase.
