Thinking Kephalonia or Zakynthos for next summer - any recommendations?

We're a party of 3 single mums with kids 8-14 and love Greece. Just back and want to get excited about next year, get the bargains and spread the payments! Requirements are:
Sandy beach within 10 mins walk
Air con
Preferably 2 bed apartment for 2 families
Pool and pool bar
Within 10 mins walk to resort centre (not Malia style resort, we prefer a family one).
Don't want a big AI place as we like going out to eat.

We went to Kalamaki in Zante this year - I can highly recommend it. We stayed at the Marelen Hotel on a self catering basis. The beach is less than 5 mins away and main resort centre within 10 mins. We loved it and it was great for kids. Kalamaki is a family friendly resort with loads of lovely restaurants. So cheap too. The only negative is you do get aircraft noise as its near the airport (no night flights so not too bad). Happy holiday hunting!

Skala in Kefalonia is lovely. We got married there four years ago

Alykanas in Zante good for families. Thomson have a family apartment complex there with lovely pools for children including slides at a separate pool. Kids clubs, but entertainment not too in your face all the time and beach 30 second walk. Lots of nice places to eat at, all within 5 mins walk.

Both fine for a family holiday.

Have stayed in Kalamaki and Alykanas on Zakinthos and Skala on Kephalonia. Would be more likely to go back to Skala though, I think.
