We've been several times on day trips, and always do the same things. Dh is a creature of habit! But I've persuaded him that we should try new things - well, at least some new things.

So this time we're going for 3 days. I've agreed we'll visit Musée Rodin, Orangerie and either Eiffel Tower or Arc de Triomphe again. He's agreed we'll visit the Catacombes and the Sewer Museum.

What else?

Sacre Coeur for fantastic views and Montmartre's atmosphere. You can ride the curricular or walk. Look out over Paris through a telescopic lens or the good ol' naked eye.

Funicular not curricular! (grin)

Parc des Buttes Chaumont is lovely - it has big caves with stalactites, pretty wee bridges and a grotto you can climb up to at the highest point. It's in the [[http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g187147-d189249-Reviews-Parc_des_Buttes_Chaumont-Paris_Ile_de_France.html]]

There's a fantastic bakery close by called Véronique Mauclerc where you can get a lovely lunch to take out and the cakes are amazing.

It might not sound that exciting but the de la Poste [[http://www.ladressemuseedelaposte.fr]] is loads of fun and very good for kids as it's quite interactive.

And a wee ice cream at Berthillon [[http://www.berthillon.fr]] on L'Ile St Louis is a big treat! Have a lovely time, I wish I was going Smile

Sorry, total links fail: that's Parc des Buttes Chaumont, Musée de la Poste and Glaces Berthillon Grin

Segway tour.

Lovely ideas!

Is it worth queuing to climb Notre Dame? I've always wanted to go up there, but the queues put us off. The one time we tried, they closed the tower just as we got to the head of the queue because they were going to ring the bells and did not wish to deafen visitors.

Is 8 old enough for Segway? I did it once somewhere else and loved it, but they only accepted 12y+.

I found this book useful

Always Sacre Coeur, such a brilliant view to take in all of Paris.
