single mum and kids plus my OH who doesn't live with us, who will insured us all?

I was going to use a 'family' policy but the policy wordings (Aviva, GoCompare etc) all suggest that as a 'family' we all need to live together. OH doesn't live with us, should he just get his own insurance?
Any suggestions?

I would have thought yes, you would have to be living together.

BUT I recently had an issue where I needed to insure my nephew as he is spending part of the holiday with us abroad.

I use InsureandGo - and have done for a few years now. I just phoned them and they were happy to add him. He doesn't live with us.

May be different for the other adult on the policy, but try giving them a call and see if it could be possible.

I have just found single parent insurance so I might just do that and ask him to buy his own!
