holiday ideas

not sure this is a long haul question.... I am looking for relatively cheap sun/beach holiday ideas for DH, DD(3) and myself. Our budget is small...can anyone make any suggestions. We have not had a proper holiday since we adopted DD 2 and 1/2 years ago, just the odd days camping and after working hard I would like to take them both somewhere lovely.

Why long haul? Europe has some lovely beaches that would be warm until mid-late October. In fact many long haul destinations have rainy weather in the Summer.
If you really want long haul, Sri Lanka is lovely & reasonable.

If going long haul to tropical destinations you would need to take various vaccinations which would make me stick to Europe with a 3-year-old.

I only put my question in long haul because I was unsure where to put it... I am looking to go the 2nd week in October. I shall look at the catagories again. thanks
