We've narrowed it down to the area around Rethymnon/Chania/Kalives and found these on airbnb. We can be flexible with fights for 5 in August and we'll be hiring a car. We've never been before so I was just wondering if anyone who has been to any of these villages can give me their tuppence worth wrt beaches and general loveliness please.
