Can you get Aptamil in Australia?
anto · 07/05/2004 10:01
Does anyone have any idea if I can get Aptamil in Australia? There's a Milupa.co.uk website but it doesn't give any info about distribution of Milupa milks abroad, and there's no milupa.com website. Any info gratefully received!

anto there is a chart here which lists milks available in different countries. It doesn't list Aptamil for Australia I;m afraid

Don't think so - know you can't get it here in NZ, something to do with dairy farming abundence/monopolies. We had to change brand when we moved here. My mum rang the hlepline number on the box from memory and they were able to tell her.

Try phoning the helpline number on the box - they were very helpful with me when I had a similar question about buying it in France.

not in queensland - we took dd to aus when she was 8 months old and on aptamil. If you are only going for a visit - or even to stay you are allowed to take in a months supply of formula. I used a different formula for dd and she had no problem with it and then simply returned her to apatamil when we got back.
I wish I could remember which one I used for her but it was so long ago and try as I might - I can't recall the brand.

We went to Australia when ds1 was about 18mths so we didn't need formula but I remember taking some long life cartons for the journey. We flew BA and they were absolutely terrible I definitely wouldn't recommend flying with them if you have not already booked. They said my son would get no food on the flight (except 4mth baby jars) and couldn't guarantee to supply regular milk either. They didn't sell long life cartons in Sydney so I was quite worried about the return journey, BA did manage to provide us with some milk though. I would suggest some pre-measured sachets if you can get Aptamil ones I know SMA do them.
