Best place to see elephants in the UK

I have two DDs, 3 and 5, and the elder one is crazy about elephants. She's never seen one in real life, and this summer we'd like to take her to see some. Can anyone recommend a wildlife park where there's guaranteed elephant action? We're in London, but could perhaps make a weekend of it.

Whipsnade is really good. They even do an elephant parade and I think a day or two a year you can even feed them.
Elephants have a large enclosure and seem well stimulated. Easy day trip from London.

Howletts. Famous for gorillas but you can get very close to the elephants too.

As Toddle says, Whipsnade. You can watch the elephants taking a walk through the park and then potter about under the trees. The keepers are fantastic and there are 2 really quite young elephants which is just delightful to see.

We are in London and were at Colchester Zoo last week. We got to feed the elephants!

My sister lives near the West Midlands safari park, she went recently and they have a baby elephant.

Another vote for Whipsnade. I loved West Midlands safari park, but Whipsnade is closer to London.

Are there no elephants at London Zoo?

Not enough space in London zoo. ZSL keeps them at whipsnade. The daily elephant walk there is great to watch.

Definitely Colchester Zoo. You can feed the elephants and giraffes twice every day with hardly any queue (and no extra fee). Mine loves it!
