Morroco quiet beach,interesting town?

Anyone know quietish beach resort with interesting town? Love marrach but looking for beach type holiday with plenty of good sightseeing. Going mid may so hoping weather warm enough! Thanks

Easy Jet are now flying to Essaouira - haven't been but looks interesting? We had a week in Marrakech in late May this year - previous week had been a heatwave but the week went the weather was a bit more patchy the week we were there. Still lovely though!

On a short trip to Marrakech we went to Essaouira for a day - I liked it much more than Marrakech but it was really windy & I think it usually is. That would stop it feeling too hot but might whip the sand about a bit

This says the beach is unusable a lot of the time...but there's plenty to do off the beach while you're waiting for the wind to die down occasionally

Agadir is the beach place but it has less charm & culture by the sound of it

Essaouira is lovely. We spent 2 nights there on our Morocco trip. It is very windy and we got sunburnt without realising it because it felt so cool. But it's beautiful and the seafood is amazing. You are literally picking it off the docks and getting them to cook it for you on the sides in these little shack type places! Delicious. It's kind of a hippy town (lots of bob Marley gear!) so not sure if it's what you're looking for

Essaouira looks perfect (not so sure about the wind though) but plenty of other things to do and see when breeze getting to much. Thank you very much. Guess we could also spend day in Marrakech too on a day trip. Love Marrakech!

If you go by road from Essaouira to Marrakech, look out for the goats in trees

We did actually see them & stop, & there were kids to snuggle when we went (March) - had to pay for photos though of course
