Is Sharm the only option for a 1/2 term break from the UK?

Got to have snorkling as dS is fish obsessed. (Ideally he wants to go to Great Barrier Reef..... !!!)

Lanzarote has excellent snorkelling (and diving) with loads of fish. Look for beaches with rocky reefs on them (few at Playa Blanca and a little one at Puerto del Carmen - where this dive centre is based.

They are also in the process of installing an underwater sculpture park which is going to be amazing. There is also the Papagayo beaches at the eastern end of Playa Blanca - beautiful beaches and loads of fish.
