Yes at the New York and Newport Bay. New York better IMO and only 5 mins walk to the park. Disney characters were in the hotel lobby every day at the NYH for photos so we didn't even have to pay extra for a disney character breakfast. The last time we stayed at the NPB it was a bit "tired", although I understand that most of the disneyland hotels are being refurbished. HTH

what about the actual disneyland hotel at the entrance any good or not?

I just know that that one is very expensive considering how little time you actually spend in the hotel IME. We went to DLP a couple of weeks ago and there was scaffodling and works happening to a big chunk of the hotel.

Location wise great, but a friend of mine stayed there and said that too was long overdue for a refurb. NY hotel is also next to Disney village where all the main restaurants are, definately recommend it.

ive done seqouia twice but not sure whether to go for the disney one this time or spend the extra on spending money for lo's what do you think

you get free character bfasts and an hour in park before anyone else it is worling out an extra £300 for the disney hotel compared to sequoia

how long do you usually go for, do you think 4 nights would be too much we normally do 3 nights

OP posts:
buktus · 15/11/2006 14:43

the seq is £615.00 and the dlp is £915.00, thats a lot more spending money with seq

I stayed at the Disney hotel in Paris and loved it but would not do it again, it's one of those things that you do once in a lifetime

Norash · 15/11/2006 20:19

Find out what it feels like then spend your money wisely next time

buktus · 15/11/2006 20:25

its a bit tempting to go for it next year because the kids are going free so that saves about £170 to start with so we were thinking of going for the disney one but then do we dont want to be dissapointed if its not worth the extra, i was just wondering if there were any mn that had stayed in both as a comparison

I loved the Disneyland hotel, but have only been there and couldn't comment on the others!

Rooms not huge, but comfortable. Small bathroom, but adequate for a family of 4.

The usual you would expect from a 5 star hotel; room service, turn down service with chocs on pillow, free toiletries (MM of course). Character meals are fun for kids, and loads of characters in the hotel for photos.

There is a kids club if adults want some kid-free time (like a nursery or playgroup), a good souvenir/ gift shop, a health club but the pool is TINY, and not suitable for small kids, as it is deep, and doesn't have a shallow end. There were armbands/ floats for kids, but they would need close supervision. We went in March, and there was no early entry to the Parks, but we did get three fastpasses per guest- don't know if they do that at other hotels.

We did stay at one of the Disney hotels just outsise the gates. It was a shuttle bus to the castle. It had a south-Western theme and we really liked it. It was clean and although the room was basic, it was nice being so close to the park.
