what's the best website to use please?

I'm looking to pre book tickets from London to Exeter and London to Scotland.

For London to Edinburgh book direct on www.virgintrainseastcoast.com do NOT use the trainline.com or you will get charged loads more.

Also book 12 weeks in advance to get the cheapest fares

I always look on The Trainline as it shows all routes.

But do also check on each individual rail company too -as sometimes you save a bit on booking fees/postage etc. Actual train prices are the same.

As Eeyore says- book in advance for best prices. You can set an 'alert' to be sent to you when the prices are best for those dates.
