Have a look at somewhere like the Salisbury Hotel or Doubletree Guest Suites hotel on Times Square.

(Do not look at apartment rentals; short term lettings are illegal in NYC).

Oh god....I'm so glad you said that about apartments. That's exactly what I've been looking at! The websites all look legit. Scary!

Try Expedia. Also, I've heard about the apartment thing but have had friends use air bnb with no problem.

Look at affinia manhattan. Central by Madison square gardens. Got suites with kitchenettes. Mixed reviews on trip advisor but literally looked at loads and this one ticked boxes for us!!

We stayed with our three at the Affinia 50 recently. Great location, really big room and wine hour too! Highly
recommend it.
