Cottages4You-Don't Book A Last Minute Break With Them On The Net

Even althought they accept your payment online it doesn't go through.

I booked a cottage throught them (using Lastminute.com) last night, I phoned them this afternoon as the cottage was still showing as available, only to be told, "oh the internet team haven't processed it yet, we will need to take details/payment again". Grr

They are probably ok, if you are not booking at the last minute like us.

Lets place bets that they debit my card twice.

Nope, they won't - I work there!

When you book online your booking comes in as an email and, as they said, it doesn't go live until it's been dealt with by a human. (Shopping sites tend to work the same way IME.) If you have subsequently booked by phone your internet booking never happens. Late bookings (within 14 days) always have to be okayed with the owner too.

If you are desperate for a particular date and property it's always best to book by phone anyway, then you know it's booked; otherwise someone could ring and get a live booking while your email is in the queue, and that booking will block yours.

Thanks for clearing that up Jan.

It was just a warning really that for last minute bookings you should phone.
