Hi. Has anyone been? Have heard mixed reviews. My boy's like being outside running, climbing etc. Not one's for reading exhibits etc. Would we be there a whole day?

If not, any recommendations for the area.

Also a decent campsite for a tent and motorhome.

Went with DC a few years ago now and they really enjoyed it. There are lots of outdoor activities. I think you can go into a mine and there's an old-fashioned fairground. (Forgive my vagueness but we also went to Beamish in the same year and I can't remember exactly what was in each!). Both were fab though and highly recommended.
