So- out of the blue " shall we go on away this year" YES!!!! We have to do it on the cheap as both self employed and although life happy we are not exactly flush. Seeking some sun, markets, sea, beaches, wee villages, lovely food. Pref self catering. Taking two daughters aged 18 and 17 along.. SUGGESTIONS PLEASE??

Airbnb is good for accommodation.

Here. Heaven on earth. Fly to Pisa, rent a car. No beaches, but everything else on your list. Owners are wonderful, and will (for a fee) also cook you delicious food if you can't face cooking one night.

Greek Islands seem to very good value this year. Or Turkey is always good.
