Already (!) looking ahead to next year's holidays, and wondering about booking somewhere at Easter, ie first week of April. I fancy doing some southern Europe stuff, but I just find it too hot in the summer holidays (I know May half term would be ideal, but that's unfortunately not an option). I'm currently thinking about either Crete or Sicily. I'm hoping that the weather will be warm and sunny enough for sightseeing and general exploring, though I accept it will be too cold for sea swimming. I'm guessing it might be too early for pool swimming too. Questions really are: is it warm enough to enjoy those sorts of destinations at that time of year? Will I find enough to do with the kids (boys aged 8 and 5) without beach/pool activities? Which area would be the best to go to? And if anyone has any specific recommendations of places to stay, then please bring them on!
