Things to do in Seattle

Hello

I am going to a conference in Seattle next week and I am hoping that I might get a bit of time to look around. Does anyone have any particular recommendations? Staying centrally. I will google of course but MN is much more reliable I have found!

It will most likely be a couple of hours so no day visits sadly.

Thanks if you can help. Looking forward to it and dreading it in equal measure (longest time away from the children).

If you only have a couple of spare hours I'd pay a visit to Pikes Place Market.

Thanks Attila, will start my list with that suggestion. Much appreciated.

Go up the Space Needle.
Get coffee in Starbucks (just to say you have been to the original one).

Ooh thanks Chippy. Both sound fab and if coffee is involved, even better!

yes to pikes place, wander down from there along the front, coffee and photo at the original starbucks.
it's a tiny city!
if you have time there is a Duck tour bus where you do the city tour and go on to the lake. that's worth it if you can bear the cheesey factor. wrap up warm.

Thanks Tedd. I know the Duck tours type thing, we did that in Sydney a million years ago (e.g. pre children!) I didn't realise that Seattle is a tony city. Thanks MNers.
