Can trunkis be taken on as hand luggage?

Heard different views Haven't checked yet with airline - Thomas Cook long haul to New York . Just wanted to see what MN said

yes definately! and long haul planes have better lockers than cheapy european ones, so generally all a bit more flexible and friendly

Even Ryanair accept them (despite them being very slightly larger than published size) so I would hope Thomas Cook would.
