Hello hope someone can help me sent in 3 children passport renewals in by royal mail signed for on the 30th of April and by the 1st 2 of them had been printed and sent back to me. My middle dds passport was not processed and I got a letter saying due to you not including old passport we can not process even though I had sent them the old passport which was not due to expire till October (regretting even applying for renewal now). Called up the number on the letter only to be told I have to Complete a lost passport form even though it's them who lost it. Filled in form and sent it by special delivery and have been calling since. We travel Monday and can not afford to postpone travel or loose the whole holiday. We only ever get to travel once a year and this is important as this year has been a particularly hard one for the kids. I have been promised a 48hr call back but I'm so stressed does anyone know what else I can do. By the way it's funny that the passport is missing but they still have the application and the countersigned photo in their posession I have been told the examiner will process when they can.. Please help

Do you have travel insurance? Have you spoken to them to see if they'd cover anything?

I'd be getting sceptical of them getting the passport to you by Monday if you haven't heard anything at all. When did you send back the form? They'd need to complete early tomorrow and get it posted to arrive on Saturday.

It's not what you want to hear, but I'd investigate travel insurance and then a back up plan, just in case. I don't believe the passport office can be held liable because they advise not booking travel until the passport is returned.

Best of luck though!

My friend had a similar issue and arranged to go to the passport office. Would it be possible for you to arrange to go and pick it up?

Hi, Ive just come across your post and wondered what the update was? Weve had a similar thing with our eldest daughters passport. We sent it 6 weeks ago and they keep messaging me to say they havent got it even though its been signed for. Ive tried everything, calling, emailing, writing letters and nothing. We said we are happy to drive to Liverpool but they wont report it as lost yet as the 10 weeks arent up yet.
