May half term - need ideas of places to go

So after not selling our house and everything slowing down we are thinking of going away in May half term, France or Belgium would be nice.

Restrictions: we need to travel by the channel tunnel car train thing as my DH gets very sick on ferries.

No more then 6 hours driving abroad

I want to stay in a static caravan or smoething similar, something with a toilet and shower built in.

Cost wise: more budget than luxary.

Any ideas?

Are you taking children? If so, what about European center parcs, the belgian ones are bargainous compared to UK ones.

Duinrell in Holland is a great holiday park, with a theme park attached and loads to see and do in the surrounding areas. Beekse Bergen is also good, a holiday park with a safari park and zoo iincluded.

Otherwise for something lower key we loved larochette in Luxembourg for walking, mountain biking etc. Can't remember how far it is from calais though. We booked that one through Eurocamp.

Try Pierre et vacances , they have holiday complexes which would be less expensive as European holidays won't gave started. Belle Dune is about an hour from Calais , near the beach and has an indoor/outdoor pool complex. Also Eurocamp are discounting that week.

We (with 3 DSs, 2, 5 & 7) are looking for the same thing, and have plumped for a Landal holiday in Holland, very like centre parcs but there are more of them. They're amazingly cheap at May half term, as it's not school holidays there that week. For example a four bed cottage is about £240 for 6 nights. We did centre parcs Erperheide in Belgium at the same time last year, and it was totally brilliant (and just as cheap) but we weren't exactly inspired by the local towns, so hope the Netherlands will be a bit more interesting...
