I'm planning on taking my DDs and MIL for a post GCSE/A level trip to a spa for a couple of days. Looking for lots of healthy exercise options/classes as well as pampering and chilling, so more of a traditional health farm/spa rather than a country house hotel with a small spa section IYSWIM.
We're in Yorkshire and happy to travel no more than 2 hours if possible. Looked at Ragdale and Springs so far, both look great to me but any opinions or recommendations would be fab, I haven't been to anything like this for YEARS and after all the exams there'll be plenty of tension to unwind Grin

How about Titanic in Huddersfield?

cathyandclaire · 06/05/2015 23:14

I read about Titanic, have you been? Is it good?

Is Redworth Hall in County Durham within the area you would travel to?

Ragdale Hall near Melton Mowbray - highly recommended. Just back from a 4 night stay (my 10th visit).

Moddershall Oaks near Stone is brilliant, but the gym was small and I'm not sure about classes etc. You could also look at Hoar Cross Hall, again I'm not sure about classes there though.

I've been to Titanic quite a few times cathy.
It's very nice and the accommodation is self catering ( with on site restaurant) so suits Us better. Cant comment on classes though.

I meet up with a friend once a year or so and we go to Malmaison in Birmingham - the spa is fab and there is a swimming pool as well. Birmingham great for shopping and lots of restaurants close by. The last time we went there was an offer on in Malmaison's own restaurant and the food was lovely. Would recommend it!

What about Stobo Castle near Peebles- a dedicated spa rather than hotel - v high standards throughout and beautiful setting

Thanks all, I've booked Ragdale and we're all very much looking forward to it. I have also made a list of all the others for another time ( now need to find a good excuse) Titanic is really close so could be good for a day trip.
