Luxury family holidays with six and two year old

We're looking to take our six year old and two year old away for up to a fortnight in August. Somewhere which is very family friendly with kids activities but of a very high standard for us. Previously we've been to Florida (Gulf Coast) which we've enjoyed but would appreciate ideas for Europe and Middle East to reduce the flight time.

Middle East is cheap in August because it is too hot to go outside (100+) so you should probably focus on Europe.

What sort of budget do you have??

The Sani resort is amazing. We stayed in a two bedroom villa at the Sani Asterias suites which was , but we know people who stayed at the less expensive Porto Sani village and loved it.

Verdura in Italy, Daios Cove in Crete and Pine Cliffs in Portugal are great and have good kids activities.

Hmmm....8k doesn't go very far if you want luxury in the school holidays. You might just manage some of those I have mentioned.

There are good deals in Tenerife at that time of year because it is seen as a traditional winter destination. Have a look at the Ritz Carlton Abama - fabulous kids club.

I love planning holidays. Enjoy!

Be careful as not all kids clubs take children under the age of 4 even in luxury hotels. You want somewhere with a crèche. You could do mauritius but flight time is long.

@yeesss is right, its price is sufficient and which place you want to spent your holidays is too good.

Millymollymama · 18/05/2015 10:52

You might get a better deal in the Carribbean. A bit off season so prices lower and you could get a very nice hotel.

Millymollymama · 18/05/2015 10:58

ITC luxury holidays has family offers to Barbados in August that fit your budget. Cobblers Cove for example. They quite a weekly price but no doubt 2 weeks or 10 days would not be a problem and be in budget. Other issues might be lack of flights to some destinations as you a quite late in looking for August.

You could probably go anywhere with 8K. Enjoy the holiday shopping!

Be careful as not all kids clubs take children under the age of 4 even in luxury hotels. So choose your hotel accordingly.

Possibly not sailor! I can think of a few places that are pretty expensive for a family of 4! The best hotels in the Caribbean are more than this!

sailoratsea · 20/05/2015 22:58

I'm sure there are plenty of good hotels there they could stay in for 8k. Whoever said '8k doesn't go very far' was trying to rain on their parade. The OP did not say they were going to stay in the best hotel in the world with 8k. You can definitely buy a bit of luxury with their budget.

Etak15 · 23/05/2015 16:59

Wow 8k I could get about 6 years worth of holidays out of that for my family of 6! Ok Maybe not luxury but very nice all the same! Sure you'll find something! If not try and organise it yourself skyscanner is great for flights and loads of nice villas and apartments on sites such as clickstay & villa renters all over the world - you could even take along a nanny chef and cleaner along with your budget!!!
