Have to visit Amsterdam in a couple of weeks with dh and youngest dd (4) and will have 2 nights but only one day (Sat) there: probably staying very centrally - anyone have any ideas on what we should do to make sure all of us have a great day?

The zoo is really good. DD loved that. But will probably be a bit cold. In the winter months they do have a nice Christmas fair set up in Damrak just down from Centraal Station.

There is a nice playarea -- if weather really bad at TunFun (under Mr. Visserplein, near Waterlooplein).

Also the science museum, Science Museum Nemo is really handson.

The canel boat cruises are really nice.

Unfortunately she is a bit too young for KinderKookKafe, where the children cook for the adults :-)

My DD just liked wandering around the streets. They have nice big pavements and quite a few streets where no cars are allowed. Just watch out for the bikes.

There is a tour canal boat that stops off at all the main attractions, nice for getting around.
