Can anyone recommend good family & dog friendly accommodation in Somerset (or nearby)?

We're hoping to go away for the weekend at the end of May. There's me, DH, DS(6), DD(1) and a dog.

Ideally I'd like a B&B or hotel but would consider self catering. The tricky bit is that it really needs to have a family suite (i.e. 2 bedrooms or bedroom areas) because I just don't think all 4 of us plus the dog in one room will work, even if it's a family room (i.e. triple with a cot or similar).

We have done a lot of self catering before but for the sake of 2 or 3 nights I don't really want to have to get provisions in and think about washing up etc, which is why I think B&B would be easier.

We're thinking Somerset because it's not too far from home, has seaside options and also things like Cheddar Gorge / Wooky (wookie?) Hole etc.

Any tips / thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Claire I think its really difficult to find anything other than self catering that will take a dog. there are a few dog friendly hotels around but they are much harder to find and seem to be aimed at couples rather than families. finding something with the dog is going to be the hardest bit so have a look at petswelcome website and dogfriendly website first. also May half term weekend you will need to find somewhere doing a Friday changeover. school hols are so much busier now due to the gove changes. good luck.
