Skiathos and Skopelos

Hi

Thinking of a two stay with a week in each place, with DC (8 and 5) in August. Any recommendations for the best villages and places to stay, close to the beach, with a pool?

We like eating out at tavernas and a high level of Greek-ness.

We stayed in Troulos several years ago...not sure if it has changed much since then, but it had a good, child-friendly beach, a selection of tavernas and it was easy to travel to other resorts by bus/car. It wasn't a very developed resort then, but not a traditionally Greek village either.

Been to skopelos many years ago (pre mama Mia!) it's a beautiful and quiet island skopelos town lovely beaches about 3 k out
