Hi all,

Just after some advice really.
We're looking to buy a house in St Neots (the new builds very near the station) and will be commuting into London.

Does anyone currently do this commute and can share what it's like?
Also if anyone can shed some light on what St Neots is like??

Currently living in North London and scared about buying a house and doing a long commute :/

Thanks
xx

It is a wonderful small town with great surrounding countryside. It is ideal for children with loads of play parks and excellent Primary Schools.
The shops are not great but the basics are there.
Absolutely loads of people commute into London. The trains are reliable and you see a lot of bikes around the station, parked for the day. A train goes at around 7.20 and apparently there is always a seat.
I know someone who does it everyday. They work in Central London.
You will have a much better quality of life in St Neots and Cambridge is not too far away and it has fabulous shops.

I grew up there and it's fine - unexciting in itself but nice enough and well connected to places like Cambridge, Milton Keynes and of course London. My mum commuted for years and it was fine, even better if you're near the station.

Sorry but i'm going to disagree, the town is depressing. The high st is full of hairdressers and charity shops.

It needs some serious investment to make it a place to visit.
