Noddy, sorry - only just seen this thread!
We went to Guernsey the year before last for 5 days. DD1 was about 18 months old. We had a FANTASTIC time! Stayed in a very nice hotel - one of our stipulations was that it must have an indoor swimming pool, which it did and was lovely (La Villette was the name of hotel, think it was in St Martins). We went in September and although not hot, we spent a couple of afternoons playing at the beach, paddling etc. There are lots of things to do, but most of it is quite "historical" - museums etc. It's a lovely island, very, very well looked after. Loads of lovely sandy beaches, and each beach has it's own little "kiosk" selling drinks/snacks, most of them have a loo too. You will probably need a car - as we took ours on the ferry, don't know anything about the bus service. Definately worth a visit - we will definately be going back for another visit.

Bad memories of a honeymoon 17yrs ago in st. peter port with an alcoholic ex. The island was interesting and st peter port was lovely from what I can recall. Shame about the company.
