I'm looking for a bag to put our car seat in for a long haul flight
Can't recall how the stages thing works but I think it's stage 2 so 9kg plus it's similar to the Britax Duo Plus

Have you seen such a bag??

no . We just used a large carton box and packed out with bubble wrap.

hmmm I don't have a suitable box

Try asking at a supermarket or even Halfords. Otherwise I expect you can buy one in Staples along with bubblewrap and parcel tape.

Something like this ? Reduced as well.

I've done several flights with ours in the hold unprotected, just tightened and did up all the straps. Never had a problem.

The most wrapping I've ever used is a bin bag.

Ours made it to Oz under the cover of large plastic bag or two and lots of duct tape! It was a 9mth - 4 years seat.

It's had scrapes before from long haul flights and I don't trust it not to show up wet

Ideally I want a big strong clear plastic bag

Kiddicare one is an option but 6 quid delivery as I don't need anything else at the mo'

Heavy duty plastic bag and loads of gaffa/ duct tape. Rubble bags are quite sturdy. Or those cheap Striped bags from pound shops, zips are crappy but combined with tape would be less likely to tear than a plastic bag.

Blonde,some airlines provide them.
I fly loads on Turkish Air (not known for luxury emphasis!) and am offered one every time.
Ring to check??

Ikea used to do a big canvas type sack in blue and burgandy, would that be big enough. I have one I could send you.

TheBlonde · 02/11/2006 22:36

oooh good idea moondog - SAS provided us with one when we had the baby seat

Thanks Skribble - I think we have one of those knocking about somewhere.
