Ok I have about £1000 budget because we weren't planning a holiday this year as a lot has happened .
I think it would be lovely to go away for 7 days with my dc aged 22 19 11 and 4 to have some r and r together.
Initially I was looking at a caravan in Wales but I have a reliable car which Im happy to take to France ?
Im after somewhere near the beach/lake/river with an outdoor pool complex as we are all fans of water and beautiful beaches.
Am happy to book ferry to Calais as its cheap enough for a car full.
However Ive never driven in France before so want somewhere easy to get to ?
Happy to camp or whatever as long as its accessible and not expensive.
Any advise would be lovely thank you.

www.eurocamp.co.uk/book/bookonline/searchResults.cfm We enjoyed it here. Near to nice beaches & plenty to do. Very close to Caen for the ferry but you could drive in about 3 hours from Calais or try a cheaper ferry to Dieppe.

I'd either get a nice holiday cottage or go to one of the European Centerparcs (much cheaper than UK).

Just clicked my link & it showed something totally different! Try this one www.eurocamp.co.uk/campsites/normandy/nr014-la-vallee/ataglance.html

Where do you live? Could you swap your house? It's our second year house-swapping, went to the South of France for £700 (flights) for 3 of us in summer holidays, Spain this year in August for £500 (that's flights again). If you can drive or take the ferry you'll be significantly cheaper.

Lots of French people on the website I'm on have been enquiring recently. Can't see me ever going back to a traditional holiday tbh.

Hard to get a better beach than this and not have to camp. Loads to do nearby. www.ownersdirect.co.uk/accommodation/p8126451?uni_id=3 (No vested interest.)
