Hello all - hoping you can help me clear this up:

I have a holiday booked to Majorca with BA from Tuesday 14th - Tuesday 28th July. BA say they will let me fly until the end of the 36th week.

I am due on Monday 24th August. This Monday (6th April) I was 20 weeks.

From my calcs I'll be

34 weeks on Mon 13th July (so 34 plus 1 when we leave for the holiday)
36 weeks on Mon 27th July (so 36 plus 1 when we return).

Does this mean I'll have be past the end of the 36th week, or into the 36th week when returning? I don't understand how it's worked out!

Thanks so much for your help :)

speak to your insurer and make sure that they are happy to ensure you up until this date. some policies stop at 30 weeks and some at 34 so best to find this out. also just because you can fly up until the end of the 36th week doesn't necessarily mean you should. personally I wouldn't be happy to fly beyond 32 weeks but that is just me.

and speak with BA too after you have spoken with the insurer. are you sure you want to travel that close - which DC are you on (if first, you are likely to be late, but .... that doesnt always work)

36+1 is into the 37th week though. You need to verify with BA If they'll let you fly. I think you're probably on rocky ground.

36+1 is into your 37th week. I flew in 2013 at 35+6, and had a job getting insurance to cover me. Also be aware you'll need a fit to fly letter from your GP (not just the midwife)which is more hassle. I was asked for it on the return leg.

BA will not let you fly into your 37th week. sorry but you need to cancel this holiday or try and arrange to come back on an earlier flight. please don't risk it, even with travel insurance. if you do and intend to fly beyond the requirement of the airline then your insurance would be well within its rights to say that you have invalidated the policy. this is going to be a complete and utter hassle. try and change the dates or cancel but don't risk it.
