Me and dp have just come out the other end of a huge arguement, and we want to spend some "quality" time together, just the two of us without dd. Anyone got any suggestions of where a good place to go is?

whereabouts in the country?

Heathcliffscathy · 28/04/2004 13:51

how much money have you got: rude question, but the answer does depend on it somewhat...

fairyfly · 28/04/2004 13:52

Barcelona, moonlight, gaudi and seafood on a candlelit boat, >dream

tammybear · 28/04/2004 14:32

Bossykate- not really bothered where.

Sophable - not looking to spend anymore than £300

Paris is gorgeous

CountessDracula · 28/04/2004 15:25

Oh yes £300 would do for Paris. Lovely.

You could whisk off on the Eurostar - there are brilliant offers on that.

katierocket · 28/04/2004 15:39

personally I'd stay in this country and spend the money on a really swanky hotel in scotland - romantic scottish castle or similar. The Witchery in Scotland is supposed to be gorgeous or I have always wanted to go here
eriska hotel

Twinkie · 28/04/2004 15:40

Paris - actually think it is not that great in terms of a capital city - prefer rome or madrid but there is just an air of something (garlic??) that makes it feel special!!

katierocket · 28/04/2004 15:42

I've never really got the paris thing. Been a couple of times and just think it's overpriced and not that special - prefer barcelona or Prague.

tammybear · 28/04/2004 15:46

Hmmm, so many ideas. I was thinking of just going away for a long weekend, as I doubt my mum could look after dd for longer than that.

OP posts:
katierocket · 28/04/2004 16:04

but tammybear you could go to any of these places on a long weekend.

tammybear · 28/04/2004 16:10

officerdibble · 28/04/2004 16:12

Three Chimneys

but I am biased - I live on Skye.

mummysurfer · 28/04/2004 16:25

officerdibble - i thought you were someone else - but you can't be if you live on Skye

officerdibble · 28/04/2004 16:41

ooh! have I got a twin then - I was looking for my MN twin but no takers; what made you think that? it's interesting how we build up ideas about each other via our postings isn't it.

Heathcliffscathy · 28/04/2004 22:20

oh yes, three chimneys, i've always wanted to go there. or charlton house in somerset (v gorgeous, ask for adam and eve room or even better folly)...
