Hello

My mum wanted me to go to London with her for 2 nights as she has never been there to visit he attractions and to be honest neither have I ( we are form Manchester) and wanted to know if anyone knew of any cheap hotels that are decent enough for a pleasant stay. I know the best place to stay is in the centre so we are not going on buses everywhere. I have checked travel lodge but even that gets expensive. We are planning to go on the 13th April-15th April.
We will probably go by coach as it seems to be cheaper than trains!
Thanks for any advice

Have you looked at last minute.com? Or laterooms?

The cheapest prices for Travelodges on those dates is £80-90 a night and I think you'll struggle to better that for those dates. Often the prices are lower at weekends- no good if you can't visit on a weekend of course, but if you have any flexibility on dates its worth looking at others.

Depending on when you're going, uni accommodation is cheap. I got a place in Bloomsbury (round the corner from the British Museum) for 45/night including breakfast. Last year I stayed in Lambeth (across from the Houses of Parliament) and it was even cheaper but no breakfast. It's pretty basic accommodation but if you're going to be out all day, so what?

The Kings Hotel, Westminster appears good value and is highly rated by people staying there on Bookings.com. It is about £100 a night. This is about the only good value Central hotel with decent ratings! Most of the others are at Wembley or just as far out! You need to consider how you will get from the coach drop off point to the hotel. If you are not central, this is an added problem. London is expensive but booking ahead on the railways is usually good value if you keep to off peak trains. It is quicker so you would get more time in London. Even shared hostels were £100 a night for these dates!

Try AirBnB?

I've just managed to get Hilton for £92 via the secrethotels on lastminute.com for 16-17 April. Spent ages looking online but it's hard to find something that ticks all the boxes of location, cleanliness, prices etc. What's your budget OP?

Forgot to mention, Quidco are doing 15% cashback for lasminute bookings so my room now only works out at £78.20. So maybe having a look at Travelodge prices on lastminute and getting the cashback?
