Pre made formula

I'm travelling long haul with DS in just over a week, and was planning on putting 8 pre made cartons of formula in the hold for emergencies as the water supply isn't safe where we're going To. However, a friend has told me that you can't put pre made formula in the hold in case it freezes, is that true?

I think you can as if it froze so would shower gel, shampoo and everything else. I think maybe years ago it did get very cold in the hold and stuff did free but that is not the case now. I think planes are more insulated these days. I have just checked 2 airline and neither say anything about it. I know you can order it from boots and purchase airside as well. If water is not good where you are going is boiling enough or should you take something with you to make the water safe for you to drink

Your friend is wrong.

Did this myself years ago with cartons of formula in the suitcase (just make sure it is packaged up carefully in a Tupperware type box) and it never froze.
