Anyone been? I've never done AI but DH fancies giving it a go. Trip advisor has mainly good reviews but the bad ones are v. bad and there are allegations of dire food and food poisoning Shock I'd appreciate any experiences. We will be adults only.

Personally I wouldn't go AI anywhere, but especially not Turkey, where eating out is amazing & cheap & very, very clean. In 15 years of going to various parts of Mediterranean Turkey I have never had any stomach problems (apart from the extra roll I've come home with Grin ).

Last year DH & I would eat in a local restaurant, starter & main & a beer each & often a raki for DH & the bill would be well under £20.

Wine in Turkey is not so great so tend to drink beer or raki.

Agree eating out in Turkey is really good, food is great

CharlieSierra · 24/03/2015 14:13

That's exactly my view, I've never had an issue and I really don't agree with AI anyway, it doesn't sit well with me. I think DH is bonkers for even suggesting it! I'm going to talk him out of it and book somewhere lovely on B&B. Grin I didn't take much influencing did I.

I have agree too. Turkey is an amazing country and there are so many lovely places to eat out. It seems a shame to restrict yourself to a hotel.

CharlieSierra · 28/03/2015 08:28

The last time I went to Turkey was just over 10 ago hygiene was amazing. I can remember kitchen were often viewable from the restaurant and when they were not they would invite you to inspect the kitchens.

Glastokitty · 28/03/2015 08:41

I wouldn't go AI in Turkey either. Last time I went we got chatting to the restaurant owners who all said AI was killing their business, and the atmosphere in town as people weren't venturing out of their hotels. Eating out in a different place every night is one of the best bits of a holiday too IMO.

We go AI when we go on holiday, including to Turkey which I love. It doesn't stop us eating out several times a week and still works out cheaper as all the drinks in the day time add up especially when it's hot. Although I have heard people saying they won't spend a penny on their holiday as its AI. I don't see the point in going on holiday and then never going outside the hotel.

We've been to Sensatori Turkey and to Turkey independently. Sensatori is good if you have kids with you because they have children's pools and activities. For adults though, I would go independently every time. Sensatori is pretty crowded with kids. Outside of school holidays you still get the pre schoolers. Food was ok in my opinion, but just ok. Better food outside of the resort as others have said. The spa is not great and treatments are really overpriced. Turkey itself though is a beautiful place, with lovely people, good food and interesting things to see.
