Willing to travel Manchester way, Shropshire/Staffordshire & North Wales as well. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Depends on what kind of a day out you want I supose. How about Trentham Gardens, Chester Zoo, Thomas Land or Altin Towers. Splash Landings is supposed to be good but I haven't been there.
