Where to go on holiday with a 7/8 month old?

Just after your thoughts on holidays with medium-sized babies.... We are hoping to get away for a week or two somewhere sunny and relaxing as my husband has been crazy busy at work and I am fed up of traipsing round with the boy in a gale force wind (the joys of hilly West Yorkshire).

Previous holidays we've tended to travel round by train / plans and do a few nights in a mix of B&Bs, hotels or gites, but suspect this won't work with a little one in tow.

I've had an initial look and can't work out whether we have a last shot at a holiday for us before the boy can toddle about or whether to go for something baby friendly from the off, eg I've seen casa del mirador recommended on here a few times.

He isn't the best of sleepers so I doubt we'd be able to take him out in a pushchair in the evening.... We've thought maybe a cottage or apartment with some outdoor space - or a campsite and posh mobile home? We'd like to be in walking distance of a little town and a beach.

This is really rambly, sorry! But ideas / insight appreciated.

im a big fan of caserio del mirador, its a fab grown ups holiday just happens to be baby friendly too. just booked our return visit and really need to stop looking at the travel pages on mumsnet now!!

the thing with going 'holiday for us' is its not at all relaxing when baby kicks off the waiter keeps bringing you a clean spoon because the other one got chucked on the floor and all the other guests are giving you the look, or you think they are, just nice to go some where where its not an issue and you can really relax.

have to agree, CdM gets my vote, third visit planned, from the husband that swore he would never go to the same place twice.
