Atlanta with kids

I'm taking my 10 and 5yr old to Atlanta soon, do you have any recommendations of activities to do with them...any hidden gems of places to go? Oh, and any ice-cream parlours as my 5yr old is desperate to visit an ice cream selling shop!
Many thanks.

We're planning a short trip there, so have been looking into this very subject.
The Aquarium there is supposed to be fab.
World of Coke is reportedly interesting/fun
Stone Mountain - just outside Atlanta and worth a trip, I'm told
You can tour the CNN Television Studios, but that might not be suitable for your younger child
Zoo - imagine it is worth a visit

That is as far as I've gotten with my research.......

Stone Mountain is great fun. Wacky railroad trip - straight from Little House on the Prairie times!

Coke museum is quite interesting.

Atlanta Zoo is fabulous - and I don't usually like zoos.

There's a Six Flags, but it was closed when we went. (bit disappointing as that was one of the reasons we went to Atlanta! It's only open weekends out of season)

There's a kids museum but we didn't make it there.

There's an old fashioned pedestrianised part which is downtown but I can't remember what it's called or where it is. It had ice cream parlours and American diner type places.

Think I'd give Six Flags a miss - friends teen children described it as 'sketchy'.

Excellent, thank you!
