Checking in online, just hand luggage - how far in advance do I need to get to the airport?

Going from Stansted with Ryanair (yay! the Rolls Royce of airlines!). So tell me what I need to do at the airport if I don't have baggage to check in. Do I just go straight to the bit where your trousers fall down and show my passport/boarding pass or is there something else I need to do first?

I went out of Gatwick when they were trialling online check-in and we still had to queue up at the baggage drop-off for about 45 minutes !

I'd get there an hour before the flight to be safe. As long as you have printed your boarding pass you can go straight to security.

You can go straight to security - but at Stanstead that can take forever, so I'd get ther 90 min before the flight

I always aim to arrive at the airport 2 hours before the flight - even if online checked in, and hand luggage only. Purely because of queues to get through security.

Hour and a half should be ok
