Hey,

I recently posted on here asking for advice about the Canary Islands. I have narrowed it down, but I'm worried I'm missing out on somewhere else.

I've just been looking at Malta, Southern Spain and Italty.

This is out first big family holiday and will be for a while so I feel the pressure of booking the right holiday.

Does anyone have any advice on this?

Thanks for reading

Clare :)

At that age I'd be looking at beach/pool type resorts (rather than attempting too much culture), they'll be happiest just splashing around most of the day probably. What's your budget? How long are you going for? You also should decide whether to go self-catering (villa) or hotel, each has pros and cons. Try looking at childfriendlybotholes website and the like. Or things like ClubMed if budget allows. Also check weather for that time of year - some places might be still a bit unpredictable in early May.

I would look for an apartment hotel with kids club. We love self catering but when we went when DD was 4 we found she needed company.

Such a complex gives you some independence but also the activities your children will like.

Beginning of May can still be fresh, how about Cyprus?

early May isnt swimming pool weather without going long haul. take short cheap flight to alicante and have a week at Caserio del Mirador, heaven for this age group and for you too. last time we were there a family with triplets age 3+ were having such a happy time. see the reviews on mumsnet.

You could have wonderful weather in Andalucia in early May, and it's a lovely time to visit. The main thing is to get a villa with a heated pool!
